Pesto Genovese – Ravenous in Italy

If you ever go to the Italian Riviera, from Genoa all the way over to Cinque Terra, be sure to eat the specialties of the region: pesto and focaccia bread. One of my favourites was a very simple pasta dish: pesto Genovese over spaghetti.

Don’t forget, of course, about the huge pizzas – with sliced ham, artichokes, olives and mushrooms, and the classic Italian starter of melon and prosciutto, which is so perfect in the summer months. The greatest thing about Italy is that you can’t go wrong – any little restaurant, café or gas station for that matter will have really good food.

Finish it off with a small glass of limoncello… bellissimo. Ciao.
