yuforia Frozen Yoghurt Co (my new favourite place)
It’s summer, it’s hot, and there is no freaking air-conditioning in this city. Which can only mean one thing: I am craving frozen yoghurt every single day after lunch. I’ve always had a bit of a love/hate relationship with frozen yoghurt (the American kind, anyway). In the U.S. it was TCBY (The Country’s Best Yogurt) that made frozen yoghurt an occasion – somewhere to go with girlfriends after the beach, with your mom after dinner, or just for an afternoon snack after the gym. It’s great because it is healthier than full-fat ice cream (LOVE), but although it is 90% fat free, it is still packed with calories and sugar (HATE).
Currently, TCBY’s around America are shutting down because the Pinkberry’s are taking over. The difference with Pinkberry is that it actually is healthy – most flavours are nonfat, low in sugar and very low in calories and made with all natural products. Needless to say, it is the current snack of the moment for women in America, especially in California and New York.
I noticed Yuforia in London last year when I visited the summer food market in Covent Garden. I love the concept, which delivers a product like Pinkbery – nonfat, natural frozen yoghurt with fresh fruits like kiwi, mango and berries. Or, if you’re feeling like you need a real treat, you can have Oreos, marshmallows or fudge!
The frozen yoghurt comes in three flavours: natural, chocolate (which is so much better than that horrible sour stuff at Snog) and a special of the week.
And the best part is the nutritional content per 100ml (a small is about 125ml):
60 Kcal, and 0.05 grams of fat. I think I’ll take a large, please.
I will be the first to admit that the nonfat, Yuforia type of natural frozen yoghurt is a far cry from ice cream. But if you like natural yoghurt and want a sweet, healthy, icy treat (or perhaps an unhealthy one with a bit of Orea on top!), Yuforia is the place to go.
If you’re on the move and you need a light lunch, then a large, natural Yuforia yoghurt will set you back about £4, whilst filling you up with only about 200 calories depending on your toppings, and can provide you with a few servings of fruit! This is definitely a love/love relationship.

I’m going to Yuforia today whether anyone else likes it or not! I presume no one actually cares but I am very excited!
I care! Make sure you ask to try thall three flavours. The chocolate is amazing and sooo much better than Snog. They have mochi too!
I’m catching up on your blog a little late – but I wish I would have found this when I moved here in August! I have been missing fro-yo sooo much. The current fad in Florida is self serve – but I doubt that will ever take off here.
I will have to visit Yuforia! A little bummed they only have three flavors, though. My favorites are Red Velvet Cake, Peanut Butter & Pumpkin. (:
Oh, and I work in PR as well. Not at all related to food, sadly. Which is why I’ve set my Food Blog to private. I’m not sure how it would be taken here; as I often integrate a lot of my personal life into posts. I work in association with the London 2012 Games. Would love your opinion!
